FAQ
Fitrah FAQ
Fitrah is obligatory charity that purifies fasting from shortcomings and allows the less fortunate to partake in the joy of Eid. The Prophet ﷺ warned that Eid prayers are incomplete without giving Zakat al-Fitr.
Every Muslim who has food for the day of Eid must pay Fitrah for themselves and their dependents (spouse, children, parents, or anyone under their care).
The amount is based on staple food costs. Standard Fitrah is typically $10–$15 per person. Check with IPC Ontario for the latest rates and pay before Eid Salah.
Those in need so they can celebrate Eid without hardship. At IPC Ontario, Fitrah supports our local community first.
